FOUR 1ST TIME ENCOUNTERS SIGNED – COMPETITORS CHOICE
The CLASH Championship picture has been an exciting thrill ride for quite some time with the entanglement of current champ Petey Williams, Gavin Quinn, J.Miller and now new #1 contender, Cameron Skyy. While we’ve witnessed these four in Tag Team action last month, we’re still awaiting the date & time that Cameron Skyy wishes to cash in his Contenders Cup #1 position for that one-on-one opportunity against Petey Williams. Just as we await that CLASH Championship encounter, fans of CLASH are also anticipating a showdown between J.Miller and Gavin Quinn which has been an ongoing competitive rivalry since Miller’s return in August 2011. Until that time, each of the four competitors in “pick your poison” type fashion were able to select each other’s respective opponents for FIGHT AGAINST CANCER 5!

All of which are first time ever bouts in CLASH; let’s review what we’ve got in store:
1) Petey Williams (c) vs. Interim CEO, Dragon Greed (Non-Title). Handpicked by Cameron Skyy; one of Cameron Skyy’s most intense opponents and former champion, Greed has held the gold before but now he holds power in CLASH. Greed is a foot taller than Petey with a definite size advantage; can Petey overcome the odds?

This past Saturday at CLASH To The Future: Part 4, #1 Contender “Ace High” Cameron Skyy & “GQ” Gavin Quinn defeated CLASH Champion Petey Williams & the “Murderous Monk” J. Miller in the evening’s Main Event. The match was everything one expected it to be: hard hitting & emotional as two of the hottest rivalries in CLASH came to a head.

With this thought process in mind, CLASH officials have signed 4 huge singles matches to take place at Fight Against Cancer 5 on April 28th pitting Petey Williams, Cameron Skyy, Gavin Quinn & J. Miller each against an opponent of their rivals choosing! These matches, dubbed “Pick Your Poison” will be announced in the days and weeks to come exclusively here on CLASHWRESTLING.COM!

In fact, the first “Pick Your Poison” Match has already been signed as Cameron Skyy has chose CLASH Interim CEO Dragon Greed as the opponent for Petey Williams! Greed is a former CLASH Champion and without question the toughest opponent Skyy has ever faced in his career. Will Greed prove to be as big an obstacle for the current CLASH Champion? Who will Petey Williams chose to face Cameron Skyy? And who will Gavin Quinn & J. Miller choose as one another’s “Poison?” This ruling brings forth a number of questions, will you be there to see them all answered? There’s only one way to do so! Gavin Quinn held the CLASH Championship for a record 15 months in a reign that may never be matched. On February 25th, the brash GQ will get his guaranteed rematch for the title! Should Petey Williams defeat Quinn at the Contenders Cup, he will do what no man has been able to do in two years, that is, defeat Gavin Quinn in a singles match (Quinn’s last pinfall loss in singles competition was against Jimmy Jacobs in February 2010).

Furthermore this will be the third time in the last 12 months that Quinn & Williams will square off in singles competition with Quinn leading Petey 2-0 in their prior encounters. Can Petey Williams finally defeat Gavin Quinn to continue his Championship reign? Or will Gavin Quinn prove that Seize The Day V was simply a fluke and regain the title that he has become synonymous with? There’s only one way to find out! The Canadian Destroyer vs. El Generico vs. PAC vs. Matt Cross

Masked wrestler, El Generico (who at the Black Friday show lost a match to The Almighty Shiek) took on PAC. These guys were equally paired and in the first part of their match the traded holds and counters that showcased their technical abilities. There was a lot of handshaking after spots and eventually PAC started getting a bit frustrated at not being able to best El Generico. They started picking up the pace and doing bigger moves, all of which got strong reactions from the crowd when all of a sudden The Canadian Destroy (Petey Williams who gets angry anytime someone calls him Petey) came out and demanded that he be included in the match. Generico and PAC agreed and Williams quickly hopped out of the ring and hung around on the floor deciding to let the other two wear each other out. That didn’t stop him from tripping El Generico anytime he turned his back and got too close to the ropes. Eventually Williams decided to be a more active participant in the match and there was a lot of teamwork between PAC and El Generico to wear down Williams. A few minutes later Matt Cross came to the ring and demanded to be included in the match. It looked like he was going to side with the other two guys against Williams but then suddenly turned on them, aiding Petey. For awhile it almost worked like a tornado tag match as it was two-on-two but eventually it splintered into every man for himself. The action and pacing of this match was top-notch and the only thing keeping it from earning a perfect rating was they could have been tighter and taken less time conveying the story of adding the additional two guys into the match. Had they picked up the pace and gotten to the point quicker, it wouldn’t have broken up the action as much and the fans would have been popping non-stop for the 25 minutes these guys were out there. It was one of the best matches on the card and El Generico especially shined during this match, taking a much deserved victory at the hands (er, shoulders) of Petey Williams. This is the kind of match that gets people out of their homes to a wrestling show and these guys deserved the big applause they received.

Petey Williams def. “GQ” Gavin Quinn & J. Miller when Petey pinned Quinn to become the new CLASH Heavyweight Champion.

Insert returning champion “Murderous Monk” J.Miller and Gavin Quinn’s toughest challenge “Maple Leaf Muscle” Petey Williams. Put them together for the main event of SEIZE THE DAY V – you now have yourself a potential match of the year, and a lesser probability of Gavin Quinn’s retention of the gold. What’s more intriguing is how involved all three of these competitors are with one another:

In February, Quinn managed to outlast Petey Williams; once again Williams suffered defeat to Quinn in August. This brought upon J.Miller’s return from injury at 100 on 8/6, as he silenced Quinn with a “Goodbye Tooth” kick. Vengeance was had the following month at ALL OUT WAR! When Quinn rushed the ring and eliminated Miller from the battle royal meant to crown contendership. October brought around similar back-n-forth as Miller succumbed to Petey Williams with the aid of Quinn. Thus, bringing us to present day; the finals of the DIVIDED WE FALL Eliminator Series came down to the three of them. Quinn suffered to defeat via knockout to co-winners Petey Williams and J.Miller giving us this Triple Threat treat at SEIZE THE DAY V!

Next was a three-way dance with The Canadian Destroyer (aka: Petey Williams), Colt Cabana and Necro Butcher. Colt Cabana was the breakout star of this match as he was hilariously entertaining as well as a solid ring worker. How this guy isn’t a giant star already is a mystery because the guy has a ton of charisma on top of being a solid worker. At the start of the match Cabana was stealing the spotlight by poking fun at both of his opponents and then trying to outshine each one of them and coming up short. Neco Butcher played up his big man role perfectly and displayed heavyweight power and got the upper hand at times due to simply being bigger and heavier than his two opponents. The Canadian Destroyer held is own with solid ring work and some flashy moves and after some good spots between the three different wrestlers, The Canadian Destroyer hit his finisher of the same name (one of the cooler finishers in the business today) and got the win. This was another standout match with solid work by all three men with Cabana and Destroyer really shining.
